The RB16-900 is a collaborative robot with a payload of 16 kg and a maximum working range of 900 mm. It is the model with the highest payload in the RB series. It is particularly suitable for heavy handling tasks such as packaging, handling, palletizing and assembly automation.
Features & Benefits
- Up to 30% cheaper than comparable models: This is achieved through a high level of manufacturing depth for core components such as drives, encoders, brakes and controls.
- Teaching Pendant is compatible with Android OS-based smartphones, tablet PCs, and Windows OS-based devices. We usually deliver a standard Samsung Galaxy tablet with pre-installed and configured software. Rainbow Robotics therefore does not have any cumbersome and expensive Teach counterparts like other manufacturers.
- Easy plug & play accessories: The RB series cobots support plug and play integration of various grippers and sensors, such as Robotiq/OnRobot. No separate program installation is required to operate and program the robot with these accessories. The cobots also communicate seamlessly with PLCs, sensors, welding equipment, and HMLs via integrated functions.
Unique options
- Integrated pneumatic line: All RB series models can be equipped with an integrated pneumatic cable to avoid external cabling. Depending on requirements, there are three different options (A1, A2, A3) for the pneumatic/electrical line.
- NSF certification: The RB-N series has been certified by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) for safe and hygienic use in food and beverage production. The RB-N series is designed to be used as a standalone unit without the need for additional robot wrapping. The RB-N series can be used in various applications, such as deep fryers and espresso machines with high-pressure steam.
- I/O expansion module: The RB series has a total of 40 on/off ports as standard. If more I/O ports are required, the system can be expanded with the special I/O expansion module without the need for other devices such as a PLC. The I/O expansion module has 40 additional I/O ports (32 digital, 8 analog).

More about
Rainbow Robotics
Rainbow Robotics was founded in 2011 by researchers from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. The first product was the two-legged humanoid robot HUBO, which was sold to MIT and Google in the USA, among others. In 2019, the product portfolio was expanded to include the RB series of collaborative robots. As a result of this success, Samsung Electronics acquired over 10 percent of Rainbow Robotics in 2023.
